bundling up.....

O.k while my friend Fatima is blogging about her new move to hawaii... and how its 80 degree park weather there.... I am talking about bundling up because it is freezing... so not fair =)- LOL... anyways this past weekend we got all bundled up and went to Ty's last band competition... it makes me so proud to watch him march out on the field... and see him all dressed up... it was a great year for him.. they just have the christmas parade left .. and then he will just be doing concert band.... since it was his last comp. I decided to take a few pics.. well he wasn't to excited that I came up to him to take pics... and I couldn't get a smile out of him... =( owell... also this weekend was my hubby's birthday ... what better way to celebrate then BBQ with friends and family... thank goodness our friends the Ramils let us come over to there house... because we don't own a BBQ... we had steak, chicken, Lamb, and lots of yummy sides .. and then we had cake and brownies for dessert... all in all it was a great weekend.... =)

Where has the time gone??

Have you ever wanted to turn back time... Well today I am feeling that way... why you ask?? because today is my son's 16th birthday!! that's right 16 I just am so mind boggled right now as to how time flew so quick.... I remember like it was yesterday that I was rocking him, teaching him how to walk, taking him to his first day of kindergarten.... and now.... he wants to learn how to drive, and go on his first date...I just can't take all that.... I want my lil boy back.... this is got to be one of the hardest days of all my parenting....

He makes us so proud.... he is so smart, and very talented... he has been playing the Baritone in band since the 5th grade and has stuck with it since... he writes amazing articles in for the school newpaper... and recently just learned that he is an exceptional chess player and has been asked to join the club at school... we have hit a few bumps along the road as does all teenagers... but deep inside I still see my sweet lil boy... I think what is hardest is that I can't let go... and I want to keep him under my wing forever.... and protect him... well I think I have finally realized that I don't have to let go... I just need to loosen the grip a little... and let him learn to fly on his own... but with me right by his side....

Happy birthday to my sweet son.... we Love you so very much... and are so proud of you.... Thanks for being our son..... and brightening up our lives....

Tis the season to have a cozy fire.......

This weekend was definitely the beginning of the cold season... and what better way to kick it off then with nice burning fire... We had our first official fire on Saturday night.... as the picture shows below the first thing Josiah did was grab his lil chair and put it right in front.... he did so good to not touch it... we also made some cocoa and marshmallow with some french bread... it was a nice cozy evening.... we decided to do the same thing tonight too.... something about a nice warm fire that is just so peaceful... and I just love the popping sound.... weird huh?? I also put a pic up Josiah right b4 we left for church... how many of you moms look at your kids after you get them all ready for church... and think "ahh they look so cute... " let me take a pic... well that was me this morning.... he just looked so handsome... and now he is starting to realize what getting dressed up is for he says " we go church" and where is my Tie... he is so cute and growing so quick...

hayaween!!

Josiah has learned how to say halloween but his way is hayaween... and he even said twick or tweet... he was so polite too with saying thank you everytime he was given candy..... it was so much fun this year because he was old enough to understand what it is and what you do.... Jayden on the other hand thought he was just too grown to wear a costume.... Kala was a bumble bee.... and as you already may know Josiah was the cutest mickey mouse ever.... =) I was a 50's girl and Kam wore a fro and a pimp hat first we went to our ward party which was alot of fun with a live band, trick or treating, frito boats, games and more... then we went door to door with 4 other families for a little while before josiah finally had a candy overloaded break down...LOL... here are some pics from our nite

Josiah's birthday .....

On saturday we had a lil party to celebrate josiah's 2nd bday.. we had it at the Wild... which is building with a bunch of jump houses, toys, slides...etc... needless to say it was a bunch of fun.. and very non stressful.. I didn't get many pics because I was running the show.. but did manage to get alot of the birthday boy having fun =) had a alot of his lil friends came ... and my dad even came to join the fun... Thanks Dad =) after the party we went home for a lil rest before it was time for mommy and daddy to go to a party... a friend of ours had a bunco party... I never played b4 nor did I have the desire... I never understood why my mom would always go... well let me tell you I am hooked..LOL.. it was a lot of fun... and we even dressed up in costumes for the occasion... my hubby stole the night by winning most buncos, most wins, and worst costume....LOL... thats ok because he got a prize for worst costume...LOL... here are some pics of the events...

it's just hair... right??

For the last 3 months I have been contemplating about cutting my hair... I somehow came across this blog about this little girl who is battling a brain tumor... everyday I read the desperate cries of her mother.... and I feel her pain and fear... well I have a soft spot for those with diseases and and I always try to do my share of helping out... not only are you helping but you feel so good helping... so it is a win win situation.... So anyways back to the point... so I have thought long and hard about it and I finally got the nerve to just do it... I have been approached before to donate it to locks of love... but just couldn't part with my hair.. it was who am, it was a big part of me.. I was the girl " with the really long pretty hair" and I didn't want to let go of my " identity" so to speak... well recently I haven't had any doubts... except the fact that I have really thick hair.. so short+thick equals very puffy... well I finally set the appointment... and thought if I change my mind then I will cancel..So I got up today like any other.... and read that blog about the little girl.. and the mom blogged about how they shaved their little girls hair today... and how she misses her 5 year old's beautiful blond locks... and at that point I was ready to do it.... 3 1/2 hours later and 11 inches gone... I feel great...!! and have no regrets.... although I will never know who will receive my hair... It will feel good to know that somebody will be walking around feeling good about there self... and I was apart if it.... here are some pics of my lil journey.... =)

Happy Birthday Josiah Macon

I know it is a day early... but I probably won't have time tomorrow.... I can't believe 2 years has passed since this lil guy came into our life... he has been such a blessing to us all... everyone one that comes in contact with him always says he has such great personality ... and that is exactly what he is ....all personality... he makes us laugh all the time.... he talks up a storm.. and can say full on sentences, counts to ten, and starting to learn his colors.... his favorite food is mandarin oranges and will eat that morning noon and night if he could... he loves to snuggle... and and give loves... every morning... he enjoys taking his brother and sister to school... he loves to sing and dance.... and always loves that he gets picked to sing the opening hymn for family home evening... his favorite show to watch is yo gabba gabba. and his new thing is asking where everyone is daddy and work, kala at school, mommy stay me... as you can see in this video I took ... he loves to sit with the big kids on the bar.... anyways we are so grateful to has this lil boy in our family...and we are looking forward to what he is upto next.... love you sula boy happy birthday...!!! Tomorrow he is having a little party with all his lil buddies from nursery... it is all out mickey mouse party.... Josiah loves mickey mouse... ever since our trip to Disneyland in may... he hasn't stopped loving mickey... So I will post pics from his party later =)
