One of our shining stars.....and a little bite!!

This past weekend was quite busy, especially for Kala... On Friday night the Musical that Kala is in had its opening night.... As I was getting her ready, Make up and all I couldn't help but be so proud of her... but also have some major butterflies for her as well... I could tell as the time got nearer that she was getting really nervous.... after months of rehearsal the day had finally came... as I dropped my beautiful talented daughter off... I said to her " hey Kala good luck , I love you .... and please " don;t break a leg." "( if you remember from a earlier post) ..she just laughed and said "Mooom!! LOL... so the night went really well... an the production is a big hit!! although I haven't seen it yet because our tickets are for this Friday night... The next morning we had to get up early and go to the park... Kala's girl scout troop was participating in planting trees at the park and baseball field.... I thought since Earth day was last week..that this would be a good lesson for her... so we headed to the park at 745am with Josiah in tow... we got to the park and it was a big event, we even got to meet the Mayor...!! we got a quick little lesson on how to plant a tree and proceeded to walk 2 miles to the ballpark.... did I say 2 miles... yahh!! that's right....!!lol... so we planted about 4 trees in all... and it was a great experience for my daughter... and I'm glad we went.... after that we had to hurry home with no time to waste for Kala to get ready for the next show time at 2pm... she kept saying mom im tired!! I told her Kala this what stars do... they never have to time to waste...LOL... she got ready and we headed to the church I was helping the kids in play this time... so I went with her... it was so cute to be in a room with 35 kids getting ready for show time.... they were putting makeup, curling hair... and inhaling 20 different snacks that were provided for them ....LOL ..she had 2 shows on Saturday.... 2pm and 7pm.. so it was another long day for the princess.... so about 1/2 way through the day i'm noticing that my ankle is swelling and it getting hard to walk on.... I remembered that I got bit by something the day before... and didn't think it was that bad... well to make a long story short after 2 days in the E.R. 4 injections of meds, 4 prescriptions, lots of pain, an infection that was taking over my body and a baby that missed me terribly I am finally on the road to recovery.. It was a scary experience... that I'm glad is over.....so now I just need to catch up on everything I didn't get to do this weekend.... the hubby and the kids tried there hardest to clean the house for me....I'm so grateful to my husband for keeping the house in order while I was away..even if though his idea of a nutritious lunch was ice cream....LOL...this weekend should be busy again as Kala has 4 more performances to do.... hopefully I will get more pics later!!
Kala with her cousin Ana getting ready for showtime.. don't they look pretty??
Strike a pose Kala....
Ahhhhh!! it's her dressing room... with her own star.... I am so proud of her!!!

A Farewell and A Homecoming......

This past weekend we went to Kam's family Because they had one missionary return from Macon Georgia That is who my son Josiah is named after and his middle name is Macon after his mission....it was so neat for Josiah to meet his name sake... there's also a missionary leaving for the Guatemala mission he enters the MTC tomorrow... so needless to say it was a big event for my husbands family... at one point they had 5 missionaries out at one time... and everyone was home but one who is serving in the D.R....so they decided to have a reunion weekend with lots of activities.. they had a dance on friday nite, games at the park on sat, followed by swimming, then sat nite they had a dance on their tennis court in the backyard... Josiah was dancing all night long and wasn't even shy to get out there and shake it.... he was so funny and definitely the highlight... they split the family in 1/2 and had a dance off... our team won... it was so much fun.... on Sunday we had 2 wards to attend to hear the talks of the missionaries.... then after that they had a big umu (its like a tongan oven underground) they food was really good.... and so was the company.... after a family testimony meeting they had awards to give out.... from the weekend... Josiah of course won for all around best dancer kala one for best mexican dancer and jayden won best cartwheels...Ty wasnt in to doing anything this year... he is getting to old.. =(.... after that we headed home... and didn't get home til midnight... all around it was a good weekend.... and I am so grateful for the examples that our missionaries are setting for my children in hopes they all have the desire to serve the lord one day....

Spaghetti can be eaten most successfully if you inhale it like a vacuum cleaner.

**** WARNING WHAT YOU ARE ABOUT TO SEE IS VERY MESSY AND WAY TO CUTE********

LOL.....so I could've added these pics to my post about our trip in Utah, but I thought that these pics deserved a post in its own...we had a much favored spaghetti and meatballs for dinner one night while at my mom's house and this is Josiah's first encounter with spaghetti so.....we decided to let him just go for it....at first he was getting very frustrated because he couldn't figure out how to get a mouth full in his mouth or even to get one noodle in for that matter.....after a while he got the hang of it and was really enjoying it... as you can see!!.....after he was done I think Josiah and my mom's dining room needed a spray down....LOL

JOSIAH SPEAKING.....
"So that's how you get the noodle in your mouth..you just slurp it in...."
"I think I like this way better you just shove it in ....."
" did I get it all"
" all those noodles makes me thirsty"

"Until we meet again"

Great ending words spoken by President Monson......I just loved President Monson's closing remarks of General Conference, and then to hear that beautiful Hymn following.. It definitely has me looking forward to the next... I have to say this one was quite special for my Family and I... because we were able to attend one of the sessions in person... it started about 4 months ago that we decided that we wanted to take a trip to Utah to see my Mom, step-dad and family and to try and attend General Conference. We had 2 tickets guaranteed waiting for us in Salt Lake and was just waiting on the 3 we needed for us all to go... So on the Sunday before Conference we got the call that "we got them" we were so happy that everything was working out.... On Friday evening after Kam got off work we hit the road for a 13 hour loooong adventure to Utah with 4 kids intow.... we tried to keep Josiah fully entertained with none other than the doodle bops dvd that he just loves.. between sleeping and the dvd it lasted oh for about 6 hours.... but after that he was done... and was fussy the rest of the way....

Day 1-our first day there we were all very tired but so excited to see Mammy ( my mom) i felt so bad because I think I fell asleep while she was talking to me.. Sorry mom... it felt so comforting to be at home with my mom... we just hung around the house and had dinner... after that we went to see my cousin Melissa's new house... what a beauty... it was so huge.. I love the little piano room and the kids loved the trampoline... even Josiah got out there.... after that we went home to get ready for saturday ..the big day....

Day 2- Saturday Morning we got up and drove to salt lake, leaving Josiah with Mammy for the day... we stopped off in Taylorsville to see my husbands old stomping grounds when he was a kid... he just loved showing the kids his old junior high and house that he lived in as a kid...then we had breakfast with some of Kam's childhood friends.. it was so special to listen to them talk about old times and catch up from the last 20 years they haven't seen each other.... so after that we went to pick up the 2 tickets that our family was giving to us... they left it in a mail box for us to pick up.... we are waiting in the car anxiously waiting for kam to come out with the tickets so we can be on our way to the conference center...and then "boom" Kam comes out and says they were stolen ..all he had in hand was a EMPTY ripped up envelope.... we were so sad ... and thought we came all this way and now only have 3 tickets... my husband and I just looked at each other like what are we going to do... I couldn't help but be discouraged and mad that satan was getting in our way of going to conference.....so as we drove closer to temple square.... we tried to come up with ideas... and all we could come up with is that the kids would go in with out us because we didn't want them to miss this opportunity. Kam dropped us off at the corner by the center .. and as I just stood there in the snow with my worried children standing around me..a thought came to my mind " why don't we just go up to the office and explain our situation" who better to understand than my fellow lds family... so we did it and they just handed us the tickets like they were waiting for us.... and at that moment when those tickets hit my hand ... I was overwhelmed with emotion and the tears just filled up my eyes... as I watched my kids faces go from worried to excited....and we were in... and it was beautiful... as we sat in our seats we just watched the door to see the Prophet walk out... and he did and it was such a spiritual moment for my family as we stood up to welcome the Prophet.... we all enjoyed the talks and I was spiritually full as I walked out... after that hung out at the visitors center til priesthood session started for Ty and Kam... once they went in we walked around Temple square, and sat in the visitors center it was really neat to talk to sisters from around the world... we got home that evening about 10pm to Josiah who missed us all day but found out the Josiah now loves suger free squirt he kept giving his cup to papa saying more..he was so funny....

Day 3- On Sunday ... we watched Conference and hung out with my mom and and papa .... it was a nice peaceful family day.....

Day 4- On Monday ... My mom, Josiah, Kala, my cousin Emily, and her daughter JJ went into Logan to do some shopping and have some lunch... while the men worked hard in the yard....us girls had a lot of fun shopping and had a good lunch at this restaurant Angie's, after that we just hung around the house til dinner.....

day 5- Time to go home =( While Kam and Jim went into town we just got stuff ready to head back home.... we went to lunch and then spent more time together before it was time to leave.... we got on the road about 4pm.... and stopped and had dinner with Kam's friends from childhood again....at chuck a rama.. after that we hit the road... and got home at 5am this morning....we had such a wonderful time in Utah... and it was so good to see my MOM and jim.... I miss them so much already.....I look forward to seeing my family in utah and going to conference again.... until we meet again...... love ya =)

I officially declare my job as a "taxi-mom" LOL... anyways this past weekend My daughter's girl scout troop had a father/daughter dance western style..and us moms got to help out and enjoy the fun....they had picture taking areas, square dancers, games, and lots of food.... it was so fun to decorate the place and see the dads and daughters walk-in and be so surprised..... Then on Saturday morning we decided to pack the kids up and go the park where they were having a big spring festival.... so we lasted about an hour ... in the heat.. the kids were grouchy and hungry and the lines were long to get a cold drink... after that the kids went home and I went to work one of the last girl scout cookie booths of the year.... our troop alone sold over 8,500 boxes of cookies.... i'm so glad its over..... anyways her are some pics of the funfilled event... =)
