Highlights in the Manu fam....

First of all Tyler had his first newspaper article come out in the school newspaper... he wrote about the budget crisis and how it is affecting school sports... he has such a passion for writing and for sports.... so congrats for a job well done.... and we look forward to many more..... also Kala ran for the office of safety director... she made her own posters, shirts, and speech... she didn't ask for any help.... So today I went to her campaign convention... to watch her speech.... she was so great... no nerves, no stumbling... just got up there and rocked.. it... so we had to wait for the results AAAALLLLLL day... I couldn't wait to pick them up from school to find out the result.... well guess what... she won.... !!! I couldn't be more prouder.. that she went out there and worked so hard... for this ... and stuck with it... she is going to be great.... now on to Jayden... he has finally found an interest in sports.. and has been playing flag football for school... I think he has always been hesitant to play sports because he always gets put on a team with kids his age.. only 1 problem.. he is was bigger than them... so this year he is in on the intermediate side of school and gets to play with 5gh and 6th graders.. so he is much happier... he fits in.... so we will see how long he likes sports... as for lil Josiah... he has been talking so much and will repeat anything you say... his new thing is turn the tv on... turn the radio on turn the lights on... anything that can be turned on and off he wants you to do...LOL... so on to the parents.. Kam recently got a new calling as 2nd counselor for the elders quorum for your ward at church.. I am so proud of him and all his growing accomplishments.... he works so hard... and we are grateful for him.... as for me ..well I have just been keeping it all together.... and I also have lost 10 lbs.... whoo... hoo... it is so hard.. but I am trying... anyways thanks for catching up with the Manu's stay tune to see what else we are up to..... =)

Kakala ...our lil go getter......!!!

The past 2 weeks Kala has been trying out for the volleyball team at her school... she has been working so hard.. and giving it her all... well today all that hard work really paid off ...as she was chosen to be on the team.. b4 she ran up to me I sat there trying to think of something to say to comfort her in case she didn't make it... lets just say I'm so glad she made it because I really didn't come up with anything to say to her if she didn't... on top of volleyball she also has decided to learn the piano and flute too.... she is doing really well with both... she also is in chorus and taking drama classes. and as of last week she is running for the office of safety director, which she has worked on a speech and posters... then tonight she mad shirts for her campaign. She is not a bit nervous to get up in front of the whole school and say her speech.... She is also in her 5th year of girl scouts as a Jr. next year she will bridge to a Cadette... I know what your thinking..that is way too much for her to be doing, and we shouldn't push to do all... the funny thing is.. is that we haven't pushed her the slightest bit... she is just a natural go getter... and she is surprising me everyday she never complains nor gives up... we are so proud of her and her accomplishments and her desire to be involved in things.... We look forward to the many more challenges that she involves herself in....Good Job...sweetie =)

Back to schooL!!

Yesterday was the kids first day back to school.... Ty is a Junior in H.S. I can't believe it!!! he had a really good day... and loves that he is in journalism and wind ensemble. Kala and Jayden are in 5th and 4th grade and are in the same class... all went well so far... Kala has lots of friends in her class and says she has lots of work! Jayden loves his teacher! yesterday was kind of hard for our lil one. he went to having everyone here to hang out with to it just him and I. yesterday he actually took a nap at a normal time 12pm... at one point we both fell asleep for a lil while. I love that things are back to normal and we actually have some type of schedule going on here.... I love this time of year especially the Sunday before school starts when the kids get their back packs, and out fits together, and the blessings they receive from their Dad to help them to have a good year.. I love when the kids come running in the house excited to talk about their day! and then family home evening when we always talk about their day!! all in all it was a great start!!

and then there is Josiah.. our lil ham... this is him on saturday when we went out to dinner for the last weekend of summer to red robbin, this is not ice cream all over him... it is ranch...yuck... he had it all over....

Birthday blues.......

Yesterday was my 33rd birthday ..woo wee... where has the years gone..... I didn't exactly have the birthday blues... but Josiah on the other hand seem to be a bit on the whiny side yesterday... maybe because he knew that his mommy was getting older.. and he was crying for me...LOL.... anyways yesterday started like any other taxi mom day... got up at the butt crack of dawn to get Ty to 7am band camp, then took Kala to my friends house whom she has been helping with her classroom.. then Jayden, Josiah, and I went about our day,we got a much needed car wash.. and various other errands... then some friends took me to lunch to El Torito (one of my fav restaurants). Then I was off to a much hated place The D.M.V. grrrr... and leave it up to me to wait to the last minute to get my license renewed( the day of to be exact)...LOL.. so I was there about an hour.. not to bad... when I got home I was in my room for a bit .. and all of a sudden my kids yell " mom" come here... so I run in the front to my surprise everyone was standing there around a birthday cake... a ice cream cake from baskin robbins... YUMMO... and my hubby had soulmate written on it which was so sweet .... they sang to me...it was so special... so after that my hubby took me to teppanaki at Akira.... it is japanese food.. where they cook it up in front of you while doing tricks and stuff... it was a lot of fun.... the cook made a heart with the rice and put a candle in it and everyone sang to me....!! I got lots of presents..... a Micheal Jackson cd, a cupcake holder, some travel wipes( because my friend marisa was tired of me carrying my wipe in a ziploc....LOL) I got a scentsy candle with lots of smell goods.. it is so pretty..... and smells so good... I got a bouquet of flowers and a gift card to subway.... which I love.... I got a 100 bucks to get my hair done from mom and harry ... and a 100 gift card for Ross from dad...all in all Id say that this was a fantastic bday.... !! thanks to all for making it happened =)

Josiah has always showed interest in music.. but this time he has over did it..... LOL... when ever this specific song comes on he like to sing along.... and really get in to it.... I know it kinda lengthy but it is too cute.....enjoy!!!
